Welcome back for Day 2 of

The Smeared Ink 12 Days of Creepmas blog hop is underway, Day 1 was on Dec 1st if you missed it and want to hop from the beginning then click HERE!  Stop by every 2nd day throughout December and hop your way through the 12 Days of Creepmas blog roll which you can can find in my sidebar over there on the right.  You will want to stick around and feast your eyeballs on some creepy, dark and twisty Christmas themed projects by all the fab Jolly Bloggers this year!

Now for my Day 2 project!  But first, a quick shout out to Val S, my Mom, who is also a Jolly Blogger this year...today is her birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM...smooches ;0)

Thank you for the lovely compliments on my Ho Ho Poe...he is quite chuffed you loved him so much ;0)

Just a Mild Headache
an altered domino that could be a tree ornament, a magnet or a pendant, but it isn't...any guesses as to what I'm up to this year? teehee ;0)

This poor dude has a bit of a headache and gone a frightful shade of purple, brain freeze will do that you know, but, I do have a sneaky suspicion that it might have something to do with that axe sticking out of his head...just saying ;0)

This scary snowman is a Rick St Dennis rubber stamp designed for Smeared Ink.  I stamped him with Jet Black StazOn ink onto a white domino and after heat setting I coloured him with various Sharpie markers in my signature Sharpie Domino Queen style.  I edged the domino with a DecoColor metallic silver paint pen and coloured the sides too.  I finished off the piece with a gold metallic wired ribbon bow, a snowflake and added crystal Stickles glitter glue to the snowman, his scarf and the snowflake for some magic sparkle.

Just a few more stops on the hop for you today, now off you go to Lady B!!

Thanks for visiting with me today and see you again on Dec 5!

Now for my spooky altered box!  Have all been watching the tv series The Following with Kevin Bacon?  All the Poe symbolism is just down right creepy isn't it so I hope my altered box doesn't give you too many chills....bbbwaahhhaaa!

Supplies used:
Quoth The Raven rubber set by Smeared Ink
A vintage mini cardboard box with 3 drawers and a cupboard
Two white std sized dominoes
White paperCollage Page
Tissue paper
Jet Black Archival Ink
Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Inks
Red Rocket Brilliance Pigment Ink
Jet Black StazOn Ink
Black DecoColour paint pen
Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive
Judikins Diamond Glaze
Krylon Artist's Workable Fixative, Matte and Semi-Gloss Sealer sprays
Tim Holtz Foam Ink Applicator tool

I've had this adorable mini box forever that came covered with a floral and kitty design and I decided it was time to give it a fresh new look into something that suited the decor of my studio more. The current Smudgy Antics challenge and today's 15 Days of Half-O-Ween gave me the perfect opportunity to do my re-vamp ;0)

I collage stamped images from Smeared Ink's 'Quoth the Raven' rubber set, purchased through their new Rubber Club (mention me as your reference if you decide to join), with black Archival ink onto a sheet of white paper. I unscrewed all the hardware and then used the box itself as a template and cut out the different sections and adhered them to the box with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

Once covered I applied Fired Brick Distress Ink to the entire piece including the drawer fronts with a foam ink applicator tool. Concentrating the ink more along the edges and corners and then enhanced them even more with Black Soot Distress Ink. I coloured all the edges on the front of the box and the drawers with a broad point black paint pen.

I used two standard sized white dominoes for the feet on my mini box and applied Brilliance Red Rocket ink randomly to just the surface allowing some of the white to still peak through. After heat setting the ink with a Craft It heat tool I stamped half of the word 'Nevermore' onto one domino and the remainder on the 2nd. Then grunged them up by stamping the cross hatch pattern onto both and heat set again. To protect the surface of the box I sprayed it with two light coats of Artist's Workable Fixative and then two coats of matte sealer. The dominoes also got two coats of fixative and then two coats of the semi-gloss sealer before adhering them to the base of the box with Judikins Diamond Glaze. I then completed my new mini box by re-attaching all the hardware.

Don't forget to come back again on Wednesday May 15 for Day 8 of 15 Days of Half-O-Ween for a spooktacular creation by Wendy W!

THE PRIZE!
The winner will receive a fabulous full sheet of Smeared Ink rubber called Urban Decay!

For your inspiration today I'm sharing a spooktacular creation titled 'Death Cards' by DominoARTist Black Dragon!

Here's Black Dragon's story that inspired this scary piece....My 'old' Grandad who died when I was in my 20's was very superstitious and believed that the Ace and Queen of spades dealt in the same hand was a death omen.  I have used two Smeared Ink images from ''As Death'' and the raven from 'Holy City''.... two of the digi sets that will be discontinued shortly (see below for the flier). The two playing cards are covered in texture paste with 'findings' embedded, painted black then gilding paste rubbed over. The 3 images and the 'A' and Queen's face are in areas I left semi clean....then used a crackled paint technique over.

Grab these Smeared Ink digital stamp images now before they're gone forever!

Now it's your turn!  I can't WAIT to see your entries!!!
