Greetings Dominoians!
Welcome to a sunny Monday morning here on my DominoART blog :0)
I'm super excited to announce that I was invited to join the Smeared Ink design team, truly an honour, and today I'm sharing my first project as an official DT member and as inspiration for their current Smudgy Antics challenge - Anything But A Card!
I used Smeared Ink stamps from their exclusive rubber club set 'Quoth The Raven' and it's also available as a digi set too. The center portion of my magnet is a real wooden domino called a Doublecross which has been discontinued for years now I'm afraid but you might be lucky to find a game at a yard sale so keep those eyes peeled!
Stamp Mr Poe with Jet Black StazOn ink onto the domino and heat set or leave over night to dry. Dab clear embossing ink onto the left side and apply silver embossing powder. UTEE is better coz it's thicker but regular EP will work too, you just need to add another coat or two while the EP is still hot. Heat the EP with a heat gun, ink up the SI 'Quoth the Raven' text stamp with the clear embossing ink just to protect the stamp and press the stamp into the molten EP or UTEE while its still hot. Leave it alone for a few seconds to harden and then gently remove the stamp. Wrap Recollections washi tape with a bird silhouette design (Michaels) around the edges of the domino and trim away the excess. Stamp the SI raven wings onto heavy weight cardstock and fussy cut out. Dab clear embossing ink onto the wings and add silver UTEE and then add lots of craft glue to help build up a sturdy joining point. Adhere the wings to the domino with craft glue and colour over the dried glue with a metallic silver paint pen. Darken the text with a fine point Sharpie marker and adhere a magnet to the back and you're done.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you over at Smudgy Antics...you can win a $5 gift voucher to Smeared Ink if you take the challenge! Don't forget about DominoART's current challenge too - Rick St Dennis Easter/Valentine Domino Books!
