Pilar F, active member of our DominoART Yahoo Group, is back today with a spooky Black Cat pin made from a Rummicub tile!

She decoupaged the Cat graphic on to the tile and applied a coat of sealer.
Once the sealer was dry she glued a pin back on to the 'front' of the tile.

Day 6 of 31 Days of Halloween - Trick or Treat card featuring a domino embellishment by Pat C

I hope everyone is enjoying our 31 Days of Halloween extravaganza so far!

 Pat C is 85 years young and an active member of our DominoART Yahoo Group and has been stamping and altering dominoes for about 2 years now!  See, it's never too late to start stamping ;0)

 Pat has this spooktacular Halloween card featuring a domino to share with you today!

Pat used a standard white domino and coloured it with black and orange Sharpie markers and used Halloween self-adhesive sticker embellies to decorate it.

She then made a folded card from black textured cardstock and adhered a patterned orange cardstock mat to the front of it.   She cut out the Witch Cat from a sheet of decorative paper (source unknown) then adhered it to the center of the card and finished with the various spooky embellishments.

Day 5 of 31 Days of Halloween - Goth Girl DominoART Necklace by Leigh S-B

On the 5th Day of Halloween I'm here to share one of my DominoART Necklaces featuring my signature Sharpie Domino Queen Technique!

SUPPLIES

Goth Girl stamp by Blockheads Paper Arts!

Standard White Domino

Ancient Page Coal Black ink pad

Sharpie Markers:  Black, Pomegranate and Slate Gray

Judikins Diamond Glaze

G-S Hypo Cement Adhesive (look in the Other Glues section)

Jewelry Findings

Plaid Ribbon

Heat Gun

Clear Swarovski Crystal

Stamp a portion of the Goth Girl onto the domino with Ancient Page Coal Black dye ink and heat set.

Apply colour with Sharpie markers using my 'Sharpie Domino Queen' technique.

I sketched in a diamond pattern on her dress and then used Pomegranate and Black for her dress and the background and a combination of Black and Slate Gray for her hair, corset and gloves.

I hand drew a diamond design on all four sides of the domino and added gold dots with a fine point metallic gold paint pen.  I also added gold bling to her necklace, corset and ring as well.  I sealed all the surfaces with Judikins Diamond Glaze and attached a gold leaf shaped bail to the back of the domino with G-S Hypo Cement adhesive.  I finished off my DominoART pendant with a necklace made from plaid ribbon with a lobster claw clasp.

Day 4 of 31 Days of Halloween - Domino Skeleton Book by Sandra!

On our 4th Day of Halloween Sandra is here to WOW you with her absolutely spooktacular Domino Book! Sandra is a reader of the DominoART Blog and one of my fellow team mates on the Third Coast Creative Coterie design team! You can see more of Sandra's creations on her Blog!

Sandra fell in love with altering dominoes when she came across a domino book by Laura Carson and decided to give it a try and this is her first domino project based on the tutorial she followed! Awesome job Sandra on your first altered domino creation!

The dominoes she used measure 1,5 x 0,75 inches - ( 4 x 2 cm) and this is how she went about creating her little book:

Domino covers:
Sandra colored them with Alcohol inks and then covered them with a piece of cardstock, and a lot of different UTEE powders. While the UTEE was still warm she attached a plaster skull to the front cover. The skull was made from a silicon mold of her son's pirate toy! The sides of the dominoes are wrapped in ribbon.

First and last pages:
The words 'Happy' and 'Halloween' are part of a border stamp from Purple Onions. The diamonds border is by Ana Griffin and the flourishes are part of an EK Success magnetic set.

2nd page:
The pumpkins character is from the Graphic 45 - Wizard of Oz collection and Sandra coloured it with color pencils. Source of the green flourishes is unknown.

3rd and 5th pages:
The witch and Jack o’ lantern pictures were found on the web.

4th page:
Spider web and 'creepy' word are by Inkadinkado and the Spider is by Hero Arts.
Sandra accentuated the Spiders eyes with red Stickles glitter glue.

6th page:
The Skull and potion books are also by Inkadinkado.

All the pages were edged with acrylic gold paint.

Back of the inside pages:

She used part of a prima mask and stamped geometric motives (Artemio and Compagnie des Elfes) onto the background with black ink and acrylic gold paint.
Sandra says she had a lot of fun creating this mini book!

Day 3 of 31 Days of Halloween - Trick or Treat Easel CardFeaturing a Chekit Game Tile by Val S

We are well underway with our spooktacular 31 Days of Halloween extravaganza!

Val S, aka my Mom ;0) and moderator of the DominoART Yahoo Group has this stunning Halloween easel card featuring a Chekit game tile to share with you today!

Val used white cardstock for her project and created that beautiful background with a Big and Juicy Mountain Meadow ink pad.

All the stamps are by Inkadinkado and she used Memento Tuxedo black to stamp all the images and embossed them with clear embossing powder.

Val used a Chekit, which is a domino-like game tile, for her creation and altered it with Adirondack Alcohol Inks Currant and Terracotta and blended the inks with Adirondack blending solution. She then stamped the spider onto the Chekit with Coal Black Ancient Page dye ink. She completed her easel card by embellishing the Chekit and the card with amber self-adhesive gems.

Day 2 of 31 Days of Halloween - A Witch Domino Magnet by Pilar F!

Pilar F who is a member of our DominoART Yahoo Group has a spooktacular Witch domino project to share with you today!  Isn't this Witch Domino Magnet wonderful and oh so scary!?

Pilar used a face stamp that she uses often for her dolls, unfortunately she doesn't know who makes this stamp but she got it unmounted on a sheet of 6 different faces at a doll fair.   She inked up the domino first with a generic brown ink pad and smeared the ink on with her fingers for the face colour and then stamped the image with black StazOn ink.

She made a felt hat and embellished it with ribbon and buttons.  Goat hair was used for her scary locks and Marvy brush tip markers to colour the eyes and lips!  She finished off her creation with a magnet adhered to the back.

Members of the DominoART Yahoo Group and DominoART followers of our Blog and Facebook page are cooking up some wicked cool altered game art in their cauldrons all month long to Ooooo and Aaahhh you and maybe scare you just a little bit ;0)

So hop on your broomsticks and follow along with us!  Don't worry if you miss a day coz all the Days Projects with links can be found on the left hand side there under the 31 Days of Halloween badge!

To kick of the proceedings I'm sharing my "Trick or Treat" Double Trouble ATCs featuring Sharpie altered dominoes!  I created these for the Third Coast Creative Coterie design team!  Here's how I altered the dominoes but for the full Tutorial on how I created the ATCs too pop on over to my blog, Leigh S-B Designs!

I used 2 standard Double 6, brand new straight out of the tin, dominoes for this project and coloured them using my signature Sharpie Domino Queen technique!  Check out all my Sharpie Tutorials on my Blog and also on my website, Velvet Paw Creations, for more info on how to do my technique.  I'm still in the middle of re-designing my entire website so some links aren't ready yet but you'll find some of those tutorials on my blog too!

Stamp just the Moon portion of the Free Parking rubber stamp onto both dominoes with Ancient Page Coal Black dye ink.  Then stamp the Cat on one domino and the dog on the other and heat set the ink with an embossing tool, I'm a huge fan of the Heat It embossing tool.

Colour both dominoes with Sharpie markers, most of them are from the newest Limited Edition set called 80's Glam.  I used Orange, Leg Warmer Orange, Banana Clip Yellow, Jellie Pink and Argyle Green on the cat and Stingray and Valley Girl Violet on the sky and touched up some of the stamped image with a Black sharpie.

 I used Orange, Leg Warmer Orange and Slate Grey on the sky.  Stingray, Valley Girl Violet and Argyle Green on the Witch Hat.  Brown, Coconut and Jellie Pink on the dog.  I coloured the sides of the both dominoes with a Black Sharpie oil-based paint pen and added silver metallic touches to both with an extra-fine point paint pen.  I then sealed both dominoes with a coat of Judikins Diamond Glaze.  I embellished the dominoes with a decorative brad at this point so that they would adhere to the dominoes as the glaze dried.  I used the Fleur De Lis on the dog and the Flourish on the cat.  Both are brads and I just cut off the brad arms.

Here's all the info on the challenge if you're interested in joining the fun!

I'm looking for members of the DominoART yahoo group, DominoART Blog and Facebook readers who are interested in creating one Halloween themed DominoART creation which I will then share here on the DominoART blog!  I will post one Halloween Domino every single day of Halloween for 31 days!  

Email me at velvetpawcreations@cox.net to say you're in and list your top 3 days of October you'd like in order of preference.  Everyone is also welcome to do more than one day too.

Make your DominoART creation with a Halloween theme and take a photo or photos.  Email me your photo(s) at least 2 days before your Post Day.

You can use any Dominoes or domino-like game tiles for your creations.  You can incorporate any other game related paraphernalia into your creation!

You can make something like a magnet, Tag Art, jewelry etc or you can just simply alter/decorate the domino - how involved you want to make it is up to you!

You can use any stamping technique or altering method - peruse the DominoART group Techniques and Make & Share Files and Photos for technique ideas and suggestions.

It would be cool if you incorporated the number of your day into your project but you don't have to.

You don't have to provide a summary or step-by-step instructions on how you made your project but it would really be nice for the blog if you can ;0)  But I do want a supply list and stamp credits!

Then every day starting Oct 1st I will post your project here on the DominoART blog and Facebook page for everyone to enjoy.

I've got a new DominoART event I want to get everyone involved in!  I'm afraid I'm a bit late posting about this, I had planned to tell you over a month ago but I'm having some medical issues with lots of tests to see what's what in the zoo and I just didn't get around to posting about it yet :0(  I'm currently waiting on some results and I might need surgery so I'm just waiting to hear back now and in the meanwhile DominoART is going to keep my mind busy!  

I want to throw a month long Halloween event called 'DominoART's 31 Days of Halloween'!  I'm looking for members/readers who are interested in creating one Halloween themed DominoART creation which I will then share here on the DominoART blog!  I will post one Halloween Domino every single day of Halloween for 31 days!  So whose interested?
