THE PRIZE!
Blockheads Paper Arts is giving you a choice of any of their QUARTER Sheet Rubber Stamps sets! A fabulous prize indeed!
My DominoARTists have made some fabulous creations for your inspiration so far, check out week 1 and week 2 if you missed them, and now it's my turn! Today I'm sharing an Edgar Allan Poe themed box I made just with playing cards and dice for feet :0) This one is also my Smeared Ink design team creation for Smudgy Antics Texture challenge...week 2 starts on Monday so you've got time to enter there too ;0)
The playing cards I used have a gorgeous zebra pattern on the back of them and made the interior of my box look awesome too! I used Smeared Ink's Urban Decay rubber stamps to stamp the textured backgrounds onto the playing cards with Royal Purple StazOn ink. I then randomly applied clear embossing ink and silver embossing powder to the right hand sides of the playing cards. After heating the EP I added another coat of EP to make the layer thicker and stamped images from Smeared Inks Quoth the Raven rubber set into the EP while it was still molten to achieve the wonderful debossed effect. I pre-inked each image with Coal Black Ancient Page ink to make the debossed images pop and it also helps to act as release for the rubber. I used 5 Spade playing cards, 4 for the walls and 1 each for the base and the lid. The feet are silver metallic marble dice.
The base is stamped with the words "Confined Space" and the lid says "Open". I also made faux screw heads from some grungeboard circles and one of the screw head stamps. All of these are on included on the Urban Decay rubber sheet. To give the screw heads a bit of dimension I applied Inkssenstials Matte Accents on either side of the black grooves which helps to make them look real.
