"Chinese Dragon Droppings" Apothecary Bottle
Leigh S-B - The Sharpie Domino Queen
Jinafire my Chinese Dragon is posing with my 12" high Apothecary Bottle
Day 8 is my turn again and I'm sharing an Apothecary Bottle with an altered playing card tag + an altered wooden domino embellie!  Today I'm also featuring a spooktacular new digi image called "Calpernia and Oggie" by Simply Betty Stamps who is a Smeared and Smudged blog hop sponsor!  I also used Rubber Stamp Concepts Chinese Dragon stamp set and added the "Dragon Droppings" label text to the Simply Betty image in Photoshop CS6.

For the tag I used a jumbo playing card cut to a standard shipping tag size with Smeared Ink grey/white digi paper from the Caught In My Web Digi 8.5 x 11 Paper pack (also available in a 12 x 12 pack) adhered to the back.  I manipulated the image and used just the web portion for the back of my playing card tag.  I hand wrote important instructions on how to use the Chinese Dragon Droppings on the back with a black Micron pen.

I rubbed some Instead-A-Glove paste onto my fingers, just like hand lotion, before getting to work on my tag.  I tattered up the edges with Tim's Paper Distresser tool and scratched up the surface with sandpaper and then stained it with Walnut Ink spritzer and rubbed the stain into the scratches with paper towel.  The dragon images were stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink and adged again with sandpaper before applying a combo of Pumice Stone, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.  My fingers and finger nails were all ink stained and I just washed my hands with soap and water and viola completely clean, no nail scrubbing need..YES!

Now for a little game! I challenge you to decipher my Wiccan Apothecary Bottle tag!  The first reader to comment on this post with the closest correct translation will win a tub of Instead-A-Glove from DominoART's sponsor, Raw Materials Suppliers!  The game will remain open until Oct 14 midnight PST and the winner will be announced on Oct 15 which is my next project day!  Have fun!

For the embellie charm I used a wooden black domino with the embossed design of a Chinese Dragon on the back and drybrushed it with metallic silver and antique gold acrylic paint.  2 silver eye hooks were screwed into the domino and a silver Chinese Dragon charm attached with natural coloured twine.

The Simply Betty image was printed out onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and I used a Spellbinders Mega Oval die as a stencil to cut out the shape which was then tattered with Tim's Paper Distresser tool.  The image was coloured with Copic markers, Derwent Pastel pencils and blended with Dove Blender Pen.  Then aged with a combo of Pumice Stone, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.  I also stamped one of the dragon images onto the top and bottom edge of the bottle label with Tea Dye DI.  Then matted onto black cardstock with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive and the mat was edged with Platinum Planet Brilliance Ink.  The belly band around the bottle is a Martha Stewart Crafts adhesive spooky branch border.  The tag and domino embellie hang on the bottle from natural twine.  I aged the white bottle stopper with a brown Copic marker then filled the vintage glass milk bottle with large black jelly beans,  I LOVE Aniseed!

See you back here tomorrow for Day 9's clawesome project by Lyneen!
