The Witching Hour draws near, what do you Fear? Happy Halloween Everyone ;0)
Wow, can you believe it's the grand finale of
DominoART's 31 Days of Halloween 2012 already!
A round of applause to all my Wicked Players, thank you so much for sharing your scariest, darkest and ever so cute altered game art with us this year! Also, a round of applause to everyone who took part in the Smeared and Smudged blog hop. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the spooktacular eye candy each day and enjoyed participating as a Wicked Blogger. DominoART will definitely be taking part again next year! I'm excited already LOL!
Before I share my finale project I want to remind you all to cast your votes for your favourite projects! The inlinkz collection poll is below, at the end of my post and also on the 31 Days of Halloween 2012 page. Everyone has 10 votes each! I will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners on November 1st!
A huge Thank You to the sponsors of this year's event!
Blockheads Paper Arts
is sponsoring the
Grand Prize of a $50 Gift Certificate!
and
SkyBluePink
is sponsoring two
$13 Gift Certificates
for the 2nd and 3rd place prizes!
I've also got two surprise awards to hand out tomorrow too! I'm going to select a winner from everyone who has shared their Halloween creations in DominoART's Halloween Readers' Art Gallery so if you haven't linked up your project yet you better do so before the collection closes! You can see the deadline next to the inlinkz button! I'm also going to select a random winner to receive a DominoART Treat from all my wonderful followers or from all the fabulous comments received throughout the month! Tomorrow's post is going to be bristling with surprises :0)
I'm also over the moon right now and I just have to share heehee! I received my complimentary issue of Just Steampunk Vol 2 yesterday and all 6 of my creations I submitted have been published, WOOHOOOOOOO!
You can find 2 of my DominoART necklaces on page 27 featuring Third Coast stamps, plus my two Fine Art self portraits featuring Blockheads Paper Arts stamps on page 99 and two cards featuring Third Coast stamps on page 99 too! I'm tickled pink right now, LOL ;0)
Now for my Day 31 creation!
Perfectly fitting for today's finale is my 'Clockwork Queen of Halloween' altered Doublecross domino necklace!
The image is called Halloween Queen VB-299-P by Third Coast Rubber Stamps.
I used a wooden Doublecross domino for this pendant and drilled a hole in the top edge so I could screw in a tiny brass eye-screw. Sorry guys, this game has been discontinued for many years now but keep your eyes peeled at garage sales coz you just never know! The image was stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink and coloured with a combination of Sharpie markers and Adirondack Alcohol pens: Black, Burgundy and Pink Lemonade Sharpies, Rust, Slate, Butterscotch and Stream Alcohol pens. Metallic copper, silver and gold details were added to the image with Letraset markers.
The domino was edged with a metallic copper paint pen and all 4 sides of the domino were pounced onto a Brilliance Mineral tri-colour ink pad. I deliberately allowed the imperfections in the wood game piece to show through, which you can see in the photo below. The top of the dagger looked like a heart so I added a jeweled heart sticker and then sealed the entire piece with Judikins Diamond Glaze. She'd totally work for an Alice in Wonderland themed project don't you think! While the glaze was still wet I adhered the large silver clockwork key (Bead Landing, Found Objects Charms) to the bottom of the domino.
I completed the project with various charms (Bead Landing, Found Objects) added to chain which I attached to the clockwork key holes. I screwed in the tiny eye screw and threaded a chain through it and also embellished the top with a brass cog gear from SkyBluePink. The cog gear on the charm chains is also from SkyBluePink too.
Stay tuned for my post tomorrow announcing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of
31 Days of Halloween 2012 and don't forget you can now sign up for DominoART's 24 Days of Christmas Festival which starts Dec 1!
Happy Trick or Treating! Beware all that goes bump in the night ;0)
